Two for the price of one

I have been training myself to ignore a great many of the offers in the supermarket lately. I pretty much know what I need when I go shopping but I am a bit of a sucker for a 'bargain'! I didn't stop to ask myself: 'did I want one in the first place?' Well if I didn't then how can getting two be cost effective?! Invariably the two for one offers are things I shouldn't have, and on Saturday for the price of one I could have had: 2 pkts chocolate biscuits, 2 full fat yoghurts, 2 pkts choc ices, 2 tins of cream of tomato soup and so on. Do you get the gist?! So now I am trying my best to avoid all temptation to buy two of something I don't even need one of!!

My 'bargain' to you is 2 days for the price of one as I didn't manage to blog yesterday. In all I had an unexpectedly busy day. Yesterday morning I tried on a dress I had bought on Saturday, only to discover a hole in the sleeve. That meant an unexpected trip to M&S to exchange it. The rest of the day I was chasing myself to catch up as I had guests for dinner in the evening. Breakfast was late and had to be a change of plan. Eggs again with crispbreads, followed by fruit.  (Half HEb = 3 crispbreads).

For lunch I managed to make some veggie pasta and topped it off with grated cheese (half my HEa). Followed that with a yoghurt and fruit.

Spent the afternoon preparing dinner - stuffed pork loin . Made a stuffing from scratch (onion, herbs, egg, nuts, apricots and breadcrumbs = other half of HEb + 2 syns). Everyone else had sticky toffee pudding with cream but I stuck to strawberries with a meringue and 0% yoghurt (2.5 syns). I felt very righteous!

Just my milky drink and a Curly Wurly in the evening! (9 syns).

Today my fruit and yoghurt for breakfast tasted so good. Even my black coffee was yummy. Not sure why!

Then - 2 for the price of one again- the other half of yesterday's veggie pasta (no cheese this time) for lunch. Another black coffee, a Muller lite yoghurt and an orange too. Thought I could avoid biscuits with a colleague but I succumbed to 2 so will count that as 6 syns! :( At the time I wished I wasn't wasting syns on them but sometimes needs must. Don't think I could calculate them as 'two for the price of one'!!

That all kept me going until dinner tonight. I had prepared a big bowl of SW classic chicken curry yesterday so not much to do when I got in. Teamed it up with rice and some tomato and onion salad and yet another big bowl of fruit.

I am too tired to have my HEa today (bad I know), but have managed a yummy choc and orange HiFi. (6syns). Have also started my knitting and I have done half of the back! Am excited to get it done. 😀
